Olemme vuosien varrella remontoineet koko valtavan talon omia hartiavoimia säästämättä. Koska tässä remontissa lattiankorjaus jäisi joka tapauksessa vakuutusyhtiölle, päätimme teettää myös loput työt ammattilaisilla. Se osoittautui hyväksi ratkaisuksi.
Ensinnäkin siksi, lopulta intensiivisin vaihe purkamisesta uuden käyttöönottoon sujui yllättävän nopeasti ja kivuttomasti. Se kesti oikeastaan vain kolme viikkoa. Koska remontin alku siirtyi seuraavan vuoden puolelle, lattiakin oli ehtinyt kuivaa itsekseen, eikä viikkojen kuivatuksia puhaltimille ja lämpölevyillä tarvittu.
Keittiö purettiin täysin vesivahingon jälkeen - purku ja asennus sujui ammattilaisilta nopeasti.
Toinen syy oli se, että ollakseen vain yhden huoneen remontti, on uskomatonta, kuinka monta huolehdittavaa ja tarkastettavaa asiaa sekä epäonnistumisen mahdollisuutta siihen voi liittyä. En siis jaksa edes kuvitella, millainen prosessi olisi ollut, jos olisimme yrittäneet hoitaa vielä remontoinninkin itse. Menemättä sen tarkemmin yksityiskohtiin voin kertoa oppineeni, että aina löytyy joku mitta, jota et tajunnut ottaa huomion, vaikka kuinka luulit miettineesi kaiken.
Aina tulee joku yllätys. Aina pitää tarkistaa, varmistaa ja vielä kerran huolehtia. Aina tulee myös joku ylitsepääsemätön este, joka kuitenkin lopulta ratkeaa, kun käyttää hieman luovuutta – eikä suostu uskomaan remonttimiesten ”ei onnistu” -vastauksia.
Keittiö rakentuu pala palalta.
Toinen vaihtoehto on ostaa koko homma avaimet käteen -periaatteella, häipyä palmun alle ja palata vasta, kun kaikki on varmasti valmista. Opin kuitenkin myös, että näkemällä vähän vaivaa (siis istumalla jok’ikinen ilta koneella selvittämässä ja vertailemassa) voi kodinkonehankinnoissa säästää merkittävästi.
Esimerkiksi saksalaiset laatumerkit saa Saksasta huomattavasti edullisemmin kuin Suomesta. Verkkokauppojen ehdoton hyöty on myös se, että pääosin tuotteet kuljetetaan samaan hintaan kotiovelle.
Kaikki toimitukset pitää tarkistaa, kodinkoneen kuljetusvaurio yllätti.
Vaivaa ja välivaiheita tosin saattaa tulla reklamaatioiden muodossa, mutta tässä suhteessa myymälästä ostetut tuotteet eivät olleet sen parempia. Opin siis myös, että kuluttajana saa olla tosi tarkkana ja tiukkana – oli vastapuolella sitten verkkokauppa tai laatuliike.
Suuri jääkaappipakastin nousee yläkertaan kierreportaiden kautta - kunnes se juuttui portaisiin.
Mutta oli remontissa kuitenkin yksi osa-alue, joka meni täydellisesti nappiin. Senkin tilaus hoitui verkossa, mutta se saatiin juuri ajallaan sekä juuri sellaisena kuin me sen tilasimme. Ja se on vielä parempi kuin osasimme kuvitella. Se on StalaTex-terästaso. Vuoden 2019 alusta Stalan mallistoon tullut StalaTex tarjosi vastauksen pitkällisiin pohdintoihimme vesipisteen ympärille sopivasta tasomateriaalista. Roiskeita ei tarvitsisi pelätä, kun tiskialtaan ympärillä olisikin metritolkulla terästä!
Lähes kolmemetrinen terästaso sopi paikoilleen erinomaisesti.
Valitsimme altaaksi perinteisen Seitsikko-allasperheen uuden jäsenen, K-Seitsikko-altaan. 500x385x180 mm -kokoinen tiskiallas on malliston tilavin. Siinä mahtuu pesemään kätevästi jopa uunipellin. Myös altaan linjakkuus miellyttää ja sopii hyvin keittiön suoraviivaiseen tyyliin. Mutta mikä parasta, kaiken käytännöllisyyden lisäksi StalaTex-taso on vielä kauniskin, vaikken uskonut ajattelevani niin teräslevystä.
